– Club History

In 1961...

The Club was founded as the Ice & Blades Club of Washington, PA, the Club's first rink was outdoors in Washington Park. Tests took place outdoors for all levels, in almost any weather. (Ever try to dance a Blues at 10 degrees above zero?)

In 1978...

the Club began sponsoring tests indoors, at the Mt. Lebanon Recreation Center. In December 1991 Ice & Blades of Washington, PA moved to the Mt. Lebanon Recreation Center. Then the club changed it's name to the Skating Club of Mt. Lebanon.

The Mt. Lebanon rink...

was the site of the compulsory figures portion of the 1983 National Championships. SCML hosted the 1986 and 1999 South Atlantic Regional Championships, as well as, the 1990 Eastern Sectional Championships. SCML began hosting the Mt. Lebanon Invitational in 1985 and continues to do so today.

We welcome...

both competitive and recreational skaters. Our skaters have competed at the USFS's regional, sectional and national championships, and at dozens of non-qualifying competitions. The club has an active test program and plenty of club ice time for members who just want to skate for fun and recreation.
